YouTube transcript questions.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to transcribe, translate, summarize, edit, copy, or download in this preview.
Which YouTube links can I paste?
Use a public YouTube watch, youtu.be, Shorts, embed, or live video URL. Channel, playlist, search, and feed pages are not accepted as single-video inputs.
Does the YouTube video need to be public?
Yes. The service must be able to access the video. Private, deleted, region-restricted, age-restricted, or otherwise unavailable videos can fail.
Does the video need existing captions?
The request uses automatic mode: the service checks for available captions first and can try generating a transcript from accessible spoken audio. A result is not guaranteed for every video.
Can I translate and summarize a YouTube transcript?
Yes. The source language is detected automatically. You can request an editable translation, summary, and key points before starting, then review them against the transcript.
Can I edit and export the YouTube transcript?
Yes. Search and edit the transcript, replace repeated text, then export TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT, VTT, or CSV from the result page.
Does an SRT or VTT download include the YouTube video?
No. SRT and VTT are separate timed text files. They do not contain the video or permanently add subtitles to it.
What should I do when YouTube returns no transcript?
Check that the video is public and still available. If you have the recording, upload the video or audio file instead.
Have a YouTube video to transcribe?
Paste the public video link to receive editable text, optional AI notes, and the export formats you need.
